Culture Vultures is a group of people who enjoy going to the theatre, concerts, ballet, exhibitions, gardens, and places of cultural interest.
Our members are mostly from the Monmouth, the Forest of Dean and Chepstow areas.
Most of our members are single and actively retired people, but we also have couples and younger members too.
Whatever your age you will meet people with whom you share an interest in theatre, concerts, ballet, etc,.
Our members prefer to have the best available seats and we enjoy good restaurants and service.
We secure group discounts wherever possible to benefit our members.
All our members really appreciate the individual and personal attention that goes in to organising our trips.
The atmosphere is always relaxed, friendly and welcoming.
What are the benefits of being a member ?
The membership fee of £20 per year (or £30 for two people at the same address)
covers postage, general administration and the organisation of Culture Vultures trips
All members of Culture Vultures enjoy the benefits of group discounts on theatre tickets and entrance fees
Each trip is accompanied by our experienced organiser Elizabeth Walsh
All gratuities and booking fees are included in the price of each trip
Members can choose optional meals available on most trips
When meals are an integral part of the trip this will be indicated on the booking form
There are no hidden extras
Members can bring guests at the special guest price listed on each booking form
Members will receive a £10 Culture Vultures Gift Voucher when they introduce a new member

Members receive information about forthcoming trips and events by post.
Members can then complete the booking form - including any guests if they wish - and return by post with payment (cheque or bank transfer).
We will then confirm the booking and payment by post.
Culture Vultures takes cheques and electronic bank transfer payments
Non-Members don't receive regular postal updates and will need to visit the website for information about the trips on offer.
Booking forms can be downloaded and printed from the What's On page.
Once we have received your booking form and payment by post we will write back with confirmation and a receipt.
Communication at short notice
There may be occasions when we have to communicate with members and guests at short notice
For example; if a show has been cancelled or the coach has been delayed.
Our options for communication include phone, email, our website and our Facebook page
Not everyone has access to the internet so we will attempt to telephone members and guests in the first instance.
If the situation affects everyone (a cancelled trip for example) we will first announce the information on our website home page.
We will also announce the same information on Facebook.
The next step will be to contact members directly but understandably this will take time.

We like to make sure that our members have the option to get together for a meal and enjoy each other's company.
On longer journeys we offer a lovely coach picnic to make sure you don't go hungry!
Pre-theatre lunch or supper
Optional meals are offered for most of our theatre trips and we choose restaurants which are close to or even in the theatre.
Usually we pre-book a two-course meal main course and dessert with coffee or tea.
This gives our members a chance to have a chat and enjoy a delicious meal.

We can arrange for most diets providing you tell us of your requirements at the time of booking.
Packed lunch or supper
Prepared by professional caterers Green and Jenks we often offer a delicious packed meal with a bottle of water (wine an optional extra).
Packed meals are available to pre-book when there is less time available for a restaurant meal prior to a concert, or when we are travelling longer distances.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten or dairy free meals can easily be catered for with advance notice.
OK... so we don't travel by fairy-tale coach, but we do hire top quality modern coaches with air-conditioning and comfortable seats.
We have wonderful drivers who make sure our journey is as relaxed as possible, and that we arrive on time wherever we go.
Safety is paramount and our coaches are fitted with seat belts for your protection.
Our boarding points are in Monmouth, Staunton, Coleford, Bream, Lydney and Chepstow

Terms & Conditions of membership and booking
1. Members pay an annual fee of £20 pa to receive at least six mailings a year containing information about forthcoming trips and events organised by Culture Vultures. Information about membership and individual trips is available on this website
2. Members can choose how many trips they wish to attend and there are no limits.
If members don't take advantage of the trips on offer, then no refunds for membership are available.
3. Members must ensure that they arrive at the coach collection point they have selected in good time. The coach is unable to wait for late comers.
Members and Non-members who wish to change their coach boarding point must inform Elizabeth Walsh by telephone at least one hour ahead of the scheduled pick-up time.
4. Members must be physically able to board a coach.
If members wish to bring mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walking frames they must be able to fold them up to stow in the coach locker.
Wheelchair users are requested to bring a companion unless they can get in and out of the wheelchair independently and be responsible for their own mobility.
5. It is the responsibility of each member to declare any dietary requirements they (or their guests) have at the point of booking.
Most restaurants can accommodate special diets but notice is a courteous requirement.
We may not be able to arrange special dietary needs.
6. It is advisable that members leave their own cars parked safely, legally and within reasonable distance from the coach boarding point.
Culture Vultures can take no responsibility for parked cars or parking arrangements.
We regret we are unable to accompany members to their car after disembarking the coach and we ask that members ensure their own safety.
7. Members and guests have the option of joining the coach at any pre-booked point along the route.
Please note that we do not reserve any seats on the coach and seats are allocated on a first-to-board basis.
If you suffer from travel sickness please ask your GP for advice.
8. Members and Non-,members are not permitted to reserve a place on any trip without first sending their booking form and payment.
Cancellations and Refunds
Once a booking has been made members and guests are not eligible for a full refund if the tickets for the trip have been ordered and paid for by Culture Vultures.
However, where a cancellation is unavoidable members and guests may transfer their booking to a person who has not already booked on the trip. In some cases, a partial refund may be available at the discretion of Elizabeth Walsh.
Vouchers for future trips may be offered in lieu of re-payment.
If you reach voice-mail please leave a short message with your name and number.
It may be that there is temporary poor reception but she will get back to you asap.
Elizabeth Walsh cannot take any responsibility for messages not received either by text, phone or email.
